Life update!! I’m back on insta.. and by total accident 🤦🏽‍♀️ I decided to take a MUCH needed break from social media for over a week for several different reasons. (Still in the gym every day + exciting things coming!!) Sometimes we desperately need to step away from things that may be distracting us, or contributing to negative vibes flowing in our lives. For me, I just needed a moment to BREATHE. To really submerge myself and devote myself to the people and things that are truly a priority in my life. It was literally the best thing I could have done for myself. It’s necessary to take a step back at times and reset mentally and I’m so appreciative I forced myself to do so. •
•
We had an author come to our school to talk to our 3rd and 4th graders today and her message was exactly what I personally needed in my own life. She talked about the importance of accepting ourselves and others as we are, as people are. She talked about how it’s so easy to see the awesome in people who have an obvious awesome (pro athletes, people overcoming obstacles, professionals, talents, etc) but she challenged our students to find the awesome in every day normal people. No matter what they look like or where they come from. She encouraged everyone in the room to spend time with PEOPLE. Not our phones, not always our hobbies or doing things, but to build RELATIONSHIPS. Because as people, we thrive off of relationships. She went in to depth about how material things don’t truly give us a lasting happiness, but that at the end of the day, it’s the relationships we make, create and build, that bring us true happiness. Her message was everything I have been dwelling on lately. I encourage you all to do the same! Quit worrying about social media, comparing your life to someone else’s, the brands you’re wearing or the car you’re driving, but focus on your face to face relationships. Even commenting a random stranger in the grocery store line will bring you more happiness than what others are thinking of you on a phone screen ☺️ #spreadpositivity.
